Christmas Tale

By

Once upon a Genesis
In God’s Garden called Eden
Lived a man and his fairest maiden
Life was lived well like with a charm
God was there
And soon here was Satan
And soon life was like the harsh harmattan
Sourer like bile
Eve had listened to him and ate the fruit!
From the tree God said not to
Adam did too
Centuries later and sin ate deeper into us!
Even still while Isaiah tells us
Mary will birth a son and
God will give a child to end
Our misery
So on an on went sin and death
Then, at last, the news came out
God will make the trip to earth
To be fully us and fully him
Just so to redeem
Nine months later, his first cry
In a manger Jesus lay
As shepherds came and angels sang
It must have been a pretty sight
Luke certainly did not lie
Jesus lived thirty years
And all lifelong with no fears
But he did shed some tears
All in all he loved us best
As Easter shows through His cross.

I wrote this for my church’s children service. Tried to sound like a small kid. Enjoy it. Christmas came early.
